ABSTRACT
The appeal of abstraction, for me, lies in what it refuses to settle on. A photograph can begin with a face, a wall, water or light and end up somewhere less certain. Recognition is allowed, but explanation is not required. I want enough of the original world to remain that the viewer has something to push against.
