AIRBORNE
I am not especially interested in the spectacle of altitude itself. What fascinates me is how distance rearranges and scales the familiar. It forces me to look at things differently. Photographing from above, whether from a helicopter, airplane, crane or drone, complicates the process technically and creatively. Borders become lines, buildings become patterns and known places briefly lose their usual context. Which is why I enjoy it so much. It creates abstraction of the structured and orderly.
