Guatemala is spectacularly beautiful and its cultural heritage is rich and spans over millennia. I’ve had the privilege of visiting the country twice and would love to return someday.

Here comes a collection of favorites from the shores of Lake Atitlan, the hills reaching up to the volcanoes near Antigua, and some images from both the Caribbean and Pacific coasts. I only have a single photo of one of many tasty meals from the press trip that took me all over the country. Press trips are often a bit too pre-planned, beautified, and filtered. So, during my 10-day visit, I opted to veer off the beaten path and spent a couple of days on the road with a hired driver and his near-ancient Toyota Land Cruiser. It was during this excursion that I met and took portraits of several interesting Guatemalans in their everyday lives.
