    Brutalist architecture in Kyiv, Ukraine.

With over 900 churches in a city that is over 1500 years old, how cool Kyiv be anything but incredibly interesting and inspiring?

I had three main objectives with my visit to the Ukrainian capital:

1. Experience the unique vibe that has evolved there since the country was freed from its political and economic ties to the Soviet Union. As of this writing (Feb 25 2022, the country could very well be annexed by Vladimir Putin’s neo Red Army.

2. Discover new artifacts for my ongoing “Resurfaced” project on  the ancient walls and timeworn surfaces of Kyiv.

3. Document the sarcophagus covering the melted nuclear facilities at Reactor 4 and the city of Pripyat within the Exclusion Zone of Chernobyl.

Needless to say, I succeeded and returned to Sweden with many extraordinary visual experiences.
