ZERMATT

Skiing has been a part of my life since I moved permanently to Sweden in 1981. This life-long passion began after a weekend in Geilo, Norway, and has continued ever since.

I’ve had the privilege of skiing in some truly remarkable places, including Chamonix, Tignes, Riksgränsen, and Santa Fe. I’ve heliskied a bunch of times, climbed up steep hills in order to ski down them again, and even worked several seasons in Riksgränsen, arguably Sweden’s premier ski resort.

Zermatt is certainly not the most affordable place I’ve ever skied. But from an overall ski resort perspective, it is my favorite destination. The majestic Matterhorn, the great vibe in the village, and the valley’s excellently efficient lift system (which makes every other place I’ve skied at seem broken) make Zermatt simply unparalleled.
